Gone

we're not at home now. We left a week ago for what seems to becoming our second home, Winnipeg. The drive there was beautiful, much different than when we return home. The snow is melting, the fields have spring runoff and the roads were bare dry. Our return to Winnipeg was uneventful, no white outs, no drifts covering the pavement, a real pleasure drive this time.

We had heard about the potential of flooding in Winnipeg. On our home stretch drive, the fields were bogged with water, taking the appearance of great lakes rather the wheat fields. The water is creeping up to the highway and some areas are flooded but i guess what brought the biggest smile to my face as we approached our destination was a road sign a business had put out: "be patient, mosquitoe season is only a few months away. More on that one next time.
